Resin jewelry with recycled and "upcycled" items
Katherine has combined crystal clear resin with recycled (or "upcycled), post-consumer items to create pendants, bracelets and earrings in a variety of striking colors.
This collection of pieces is created by first forming a mold of a master model. This mold is used as the reservoir for casting the resin jewelry with found materials or vintage objects. The resin is made of two components. Each must be carefully measured and mixed thoroughly before pouring into the mold. After pouring the resin, post consumer materials, such as glass shards, found objects, vintage papers and sundries are randomly dropped into each piece. Resin jewelry takes several days to cure. Once the handcrafted jewelry pieces are removed from the mold, they are sanded and buffed to achieve a crystal clear and high polish appearance.

These resin jewelry pieces are formed with post consumer glass shards.
These pendants are made on recycled scrabble tiles and finsihed with a dome of resin.
